In 2014 YogaSlackers Sam Salwei and Raquel Hernández-Cruz hit the road hard. After a mechanic declared that their beloved home, the Peace Love Car (PLC), had only a year to live due to a rusting frame, they decided to take it on a 45,000-mile tour of North America. The PLC is a colorful 1988 Ford Festiva that was the mobile residence and transport to several YogaSlackers for over the 10 years.
As a final hurrah, Raquel and Sam drove to 49 U.S. States and nine Canadian provinces – going on adventures, performing and teaching a mix of slacklining, yoga, AcroYoga, and YogaSlackers conditioning. (They also hit up Hawaii, but the car couldn’t make the trip.)
This shirt commemorates all the stops on the tour… or at least, all the planned ones!
Today the Peace Love Car rests in North Dakota, waiting for another adventurous soul to restart its journey. Yes, it runs! demonstrating once more that Festivas are stronger and more reliable than they appear. (Especially when their owners refuse to let them go!)
