Growing up in San Francisco Andrew was never far from a yoga studio; however he hadn't been to more than a handful of classes before heading East to college in 1999. His practice only really began ten years later when he first stepped into Saratoga Springs Yoga studio. It was a workshop at Saratoga Springs Yoga where Andrew first met YogaSlackers Sam Salwei and Adi Carter and he was immediately enthralled with the practice of slacklining. Slackline yoga has been described as "distilling the art of yogic concentration." To balance on a 1" piece of webbing lightly tensioned between two trees is not easy, and doing yoga poses on it is even more challenging. Yet despite the seemingly impossible nature of the act, it is achievable by almost anyone with a little bit of perseverance and patience. Andrew is proof that with perseverance and patience anyone can learn how to slackline. 🙂 Andrew's classes are designed to make your body work at its edge to help develop your body-mind connection but do so playfully, so as to increase your enjoyment of your practice every time you step on (or off) your mat.
