Come meet Sam, Raquel, and the SlackerVan at Overland Expo West 2026 in Flagstaff. We’re bringing movement training for overlanders, plus practical travel know-how, so you can build a stronger body for long days on the road and a calmer nervous system for everything in between.
About the Overland Expo
Overland Expo is one of the best places to learn real-world overlanding skills, discover new gear, and connect with the broader overland community through hands-on education and a major exhibitor show.
Who is the Overland Expo for?
The Overland Expo is for anyone who wants to travel by vehicle beyond paved roads—whether that means weekend camp trips, long-term road travel, or full-scale international overland journeys. You don’t need a built-out rig to belong here. You just need curiosity and a desire to learn.
From motorcycles to 4x4s, vans, and fully built expedition rigs, it’s a gathering place for everyone who wants to get trained, get outfitted, and get inspired to go.
YogaSlackers at the Overland Expo
We’ll be teaching daily movement classes and offering practical overland travel talks—plus hosting SlackerVan hangouts for anyone who wants to see a real, lived-in rig up close. Come for one session or build your own mini “training camp” across the weekend.
Slackline Yoga (all levels, all ages)
Slackline yoga is balance training disguised as play. We’ll teach beginner-friendly foundations as well as progressions for experienced slackers. As always, our classes will provide you with lots of options, safety, and progressions so you can participate safely at your level. Kids, teens, adults, and “I haven’t exercised since the 80’s” bodies are welcome. Expect confidence-building drills, core and stability work, and the kind of focus that carries directly into trail travel and camp life.
AcroYoga (communication, fitness, and classic acro)
AcroYoga is partner movement that teaches trust, timing, and clear communication. Skills that matter on the road as much as they do on the mat. We’ll offer a mix of: (1) communication workshops (spotting, consent, and how to give usable cues), (2) fun fitness routines that build strength without feeling like a workout, and (3) classic acroyoga foundations (safe basing, flying, and progressions that don’t require prior experience). Come with a partner or show up solo.
Yoga for Traveling Bodies (with or without a mat)
Long drives, camp sleep, and repetitive “vanlife” tasks can do a number on hips, hamstrings, shoulders, and lower back. These sessions are designed to keep your body functional for real travel: mobility you can do next to your vehicle, strength that supports carrying gear, and resets for stiff joints. We’ll include versions that work on a yoga mat and versions you can do on dirt, grass, a towel, standing around or sitting.
Overlanding Talks (real-world systems & real-world people)
We’re bringing the stuff that doesn’t always make it into the gear conversation: how to travel well, not just travel far. Topics will range from practical tips and systems to the human side of life on the road, including: traveling as a couple (communication under stress, decision-making, and roles), traveling as a woman, and traveling as an interracial couple. We’ll also cover “build vs buy” decisions, and how to travel for (almost) nothing by using credit cards strategically without racking up debt.
SlackerVan Tour
The SlackerVan is our home base, office, and an adventure machine that it’s been refined through years of real travel. Stop by for a walk-through and ask anything: layout choices, storage logic, power systems, “what we’d do differently,” and what matters most when you want a rig that functions day after day. Expect honest answers, practical takeaways, and plenty of nerding out on build details.
Whether you’re new to overlanding or you’ve been living out of a rig for years, you’ll enjoy the Overland Expo! You’ll leave with practical tools for all budget levels, plus our tips to move better, recover faster, and travel longer.
