Curious about kiteboarding but not quite ready to dive in—literally? Our 2-hour Discovery Lesson is the perfect introduction to the sport, and the best part? No swimming skills are required! This lesson takes place entirely on the beach, making it an ideal way to explore kiteboarding in a safe and controlled environment before committing to full lessons in the water.
The exact location of your lesson will depend on where you are located and the wind conditions on the day of your session. We will always look for the closest beach to your area that provides the best conditions for a successful and fun lesson.

Once you successfully practice and demonstrate proficiency in the key skills covered in your Discovery Lesson, you will receive an IKO certification as a Level 1 kiteboarder. Your certification will indicate L1A through L1E, corresponding to the specific skills you have mastered. Once you reach level 1E you will be ready for the Intermediate Rider Course.Â
The IKO certification allows you to continue your kiteboarding journey with structured progressions, whether with us or at any IKO-affiliated school worldwide.
If you feel like you need more time to refine your kite control skills, no worries! You can schedule an additional lesson to build confidence before moving on to the next level. Our goal is to ensure you feel comfortable and well-prepared as you advance in your kiteboarding experience.

Sam is an IKO-certified kiteboarding instructor with a deep passion for wind sports and adventure. With years of experience teaching movement-based disciplines, Sam brings a clear, fun, and progressive approach to his kiteboarding lessons.
Beyond teaching, Sam is an accomplished expedition athlete, having co-led the 2XTM Expedition, an ambitious snowkiting journey across North Dakota’s frozen landscapes. His expertise in wind-powered travel and dynamic movement makes him a patient and knowledgeable instructor, ready to help students of all levels harness the power of the wind.
Raquel has spent most of her life in the water, making her a natural when it comes to teaching kiteboarding. A SCUBA diver since 1997, a lifeguard, triathlete and former Marine Biologist, she has a deep understanding of the ocean and wind dynamics. Now an IKO-certified kiteboarding instructor, Raquel shares her passion for the sport with students in both English and Spanish.
Her patient and encouraging teaching style helps students of all levels feel confident as they learn to harness the wind. Whether you’re stepping onto the beach for the first time or looking to refine your skills, Raquel will guide you through the process with expertise and enthusiasm.
